The Otherworld Stitchery is a creative studio centred around textiles, making, experimentation, reuse, and projects, with a touch of whimsy.<\/p>
It began as a place to bring together several things I love: making, designing, exploring ideas, and following creative curiosity wherever it happens to lead.<\/p>
Textiles are the common thread running through many of those interests. From cross stitch patterns and maker resources to circular garments and future experiments, The Otherworld Stitchery is a home for projects that emerge from a fascination with what we make, how we use materials, and what possibilities might still be hidden within them.<\/p>
I'm particularly interested in reuse, creative experimentation, and finding ways to make more thoughtful use of the things that already exist. Rather than presenting myself as an expert, I prefer to approach these subjects through exploration, documentation, and hands-on projects.<\/p>
You'll find patterns, resources, observations, experiments, and the occasional rabbit hole as the studio continues to grow and evolve.<\/p>
When I decided to introduce clothing to the studio, choosing the right production partner was important.<\/p>
All garments are produced through Teemill using their Remill\u00ae system, which incorporates recovered and remanufactured organic cotton and is designed to support a circular approach to clothing production. Garments can be returned through Teemill's system when worn out so the materials can be remade again.<\/p>
Their approach aligns closely with my interest in reuse, materials, and exploring how textiles can remain useful for longer.<\/p>
